Atmospheric plasma spraying (APS)

Plasma atmospheric spraying - the process of applying a coating to the surface of an article by supplying a powder material to a high-temperature plasma jet, the powder is heated, followed by melting of its particles, which are directed to the substrate (the main material of the part) in the form of a two-phase stream.

Appointment
Coating spraying:
  • wear-resistant;
  • corrosion-resistant;
  • thermal barrier,
  • heat-resistant;
  • sealing;
  • antifriction.
Plasma spraying allows a wide range of ceramic and metal powder materials to be applied to external and internal surfaces up to 1000 mm deep and more than 80 mm in diameter.

Advantages:
  • high plasma-forming gas flow temperature, which enables to apply materials with high melting point;
  • absence of oxygen in the gas flow, which allows spraying of materials without their decomposition, preventing oxidation of the sputtered surface;
  • high adhesion strength of the coating to the base;
  • application of coating with minimum allowances for subsequent machining.

Applications:
  • mechanical engineering;
  • aviation and space;
  • oil and gas;
  • chemistry and recycling;
  • metallurgy;
  • energy;

Scope:

  • restoration of the thermal barrier coating of the parts of the hot path of gas turbine plants (GTU): combustion chambers, flame tubes, gas collectors, HPT casings and screens, burners;
  • plasma spraying of high-temperature anticorrosive coatings on working and nozzle blades of high and low pressure turbines;
  • repair of ceramic coatings of coroner shafts, moisturizing printed and other shafts;
